Estee Lauder ANR Limited Edition Size

Hello Groomies, I was browsing (well, you know I always am on the prowl for what’s new) around at Tangs Orchard when I decided to check out the Michael Kors Estee Lauder Collection. Anyway, Was about to purchase my usual Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex (click to read my previous review) 50ml (S$138) when the Sales Lady told me they have a limited edition size for Christmas that is the 75ml (S$152). Savings = more stuff to be bought, simple equation.

Its not about the size… Oh come on, big is always better like more is more!

A vitamin-smelling serum, it neutralizes environmental irritants and infuses skin with the exclusive Chronolux Technology to aid skin in its repair and protective work. (If you are baffled by what I wrote: this is an anti-aging serum).

Verdict:
With all the new and current technologies, textures and effects, This iconic brown and gold trimmed bottle has always been a staple item in my drawers of desire. If you are looking for a serum that’s luxurious and classic for mums or girlfriends (Guys take note), then this is a product I sincerely recommend.

Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex 75ml retails at S$152 at Estee Lauder CK Tangs Orchard.

Estee Lauder Nutritious Purifying 2-in-1 Foam Cleanser

Yours truly was sharking around Sephora looking for my advanced night repair when I came across this cleanser. I mean, with the words Purifying and Nutritious screaming out at me, how could I resist shelling out my pennies for this Estee Lauder Nutritious Purifying 2-in-1 Foam Cleanser.

It’s a duo usage product that can be used as a cleanser in the morning and as a deep purifying mask in the evening. With Magnetic Clay to draw out impurities lodged deep within the pores, it promises to reveal clean, soft and radiant skin.

Out of the tube, this white/beige hued cleanser does have the consistency of a clay mask (with visible chunks of magnetic clay). A teeny creamy dollop of this berryish smelling cleanser was good enough to clean my face of massive proportions.  It leaves skin very clean but how do I explain this, it is like squeaky clean but it is still comfortable without tightness. But I am full of praise for its masking abilities. Used on a dry face, I spread a thin layer of this over the skin and leave it to work its purging magic for a good five minutes before lathering up under the shower. Wonder results ensue as I personally have experienced a visible detoxified effect with this one as skin looks brighter and calmer without any signs of redness.

Verdict: A tad bit pricier for a cleanser, this duo wonder purger/cleaner marvel is a great deep cleansing product for those days when skin acts all clogged, red and angry. Dry skin types however may find this a tad bit drying but overall its great for oily, combination skin types.

Estee Lauder Nutritious Purifying 2-in-1 Foam Cleanser retails for around S$40 at all Estee Lauder Counters

Estée Lauder’s Perfectionist CP+ and Idealist Serums

Being 29 going on to 30, fine lines (together with loss of facial volume, sagging, liver spots) are my biggest concern. Encouraged by the positive results I’ve had with the advanced night repair. I purchased 2 bottles of Estée Lauder’s Perfectionist CP+ Wrinkle Lifting Serum and 2 bottles of Estée Lauder’s Idealist Skin Refinisher via Internet online shopping, as I am quite the shy guy when it comes to asking for samples. Perhaps it’s the way I dress when I go undercover at the beauty counters (tees and berms complete with sandals, hair gone awry) or maybe sales assistants just love pushing the Homme line of products to me (I am not sexist but female skincare products seem more advanced in terms of science in my opinion). Give me sexy purple and green bottles anytime!

Let’s start with the Perfectionist CP+. It claims to be a powerful serum that corrects wrinkles while reducing the appearance of lines and age spots. Applied during the day, the serum penetrates the skin and amplifies collagen production while filling up existing lines. In a nutshell, the serum works like it is blowing air into a deflated balloon, filling it up and smoothing out lines.

Don’t get me wrong here; I did not bloat up like I had mumps. I had applied this serum daily followed by moisturizer and sun block for a good two weeks. The texture reminds me of cream cheese although it was really silicony textured, spreads real easily over skin hence a small amount was sufficient and it smelt faintly of lavender. I did not see a visible firming effect with it but this serum does fill up the tiny visible lines that had been bothering me around the mouth area.

Moving on to the Idealist Skin Refinisher, it is fast-acting serum that gently exfoliates skin and shrink pores while evening skin texture. I dabbled with this after my Perfectionist ran out. The scent of this product reminded me of an old classic of Estée Lauder’s Fruition, fresh and fruity. It felt silicony too but after smoothing it on, I noticed immediately my skin was luminous and even toned. As I have red undertones in my skin, this serum balanced it all out without the need of applying green tinted colour correctors. The pore minimizing effect kind of wears off once you stop using it but in my case I find it a great product to use as a skin prep for those blah days when your skin is not at its best.

Verdict: I had expected the Perfectionist to outdo the Idealist as it seemed more scientific and expensive too but Estée Lauder’s Idealist Skin Refinisher was seriously seriously good.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair

Girls! Gather round and let me tell you about this reviewed to death item. Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex (What a mouthful, try saying it in a single breath haha!). My colleagues knew how I was lemming for this item but I guess Hilary Rhonda’s (Yes, that Estee Lauder Girl) glossy ads won me over. I finally succumbed to temptation and bought it on my 29^th birthday. While braving the journey home, I was given strange looks by commuters on the train as I was practically caressing the brown bottle with its gold trimmings in excitement.

Advanced Night Repair claims to repair your skin of its past and present damage when it is in its resting state. Environmental assaults like pollution, smoke and free radicals don’t stand a chance with this serum. Plus it claims to repair DNA damage. Hello? DNA Repair? Sign me up immediately.

Oh yes, the review. The texture of this serum feels like it contains silicones however it absorbed into the skin. Being a generous kind of person, I dispensed 5 drops of this golden elixir and gently patted it into my skin. Perhaps it was the hyaluronic acid there was a smooth and bouncy feel to skin (instant gratification!), this was followed moisturizer to seal in all the goodness.
Lights off and I drifted…drifted to my fantasy world where I was with the Salvatore Brothers. Yes, Vampire Diaries. So sue me, I like teen drama.

Well I must say this product is mind blowing. I woke up the very next day and found my skin was radiant and it gets better after a week. Onto the testing board and hello findings:

WEEK 1: ANR does give my skin a plumped up effect, plus I find myself looking more rested and glowy. There was a slight improvement along the nasolabial folds.

WEEK 2: This week was a week of joy, ANR in its own scientific way somehow evened out my skin tone, also it seems to curb the formation of pimples as I tend to break out along the jaw line due to the usage of a razor. I did notice an improvement in the fading of old pimple scars plus I got my ID checked when I was out clubbing. Amazing! (Fact not fiction)

Verdict: I hold the Advanced Night Repair in high regard. It does what it is supposed to do. If you are looking for an anti aging serum, this science in a bottle is your best bet. It is skin insurance.
