Nanoblur

28 Dec

With partying comes age, with age comes imperfections; with imperfections comes the caking on of camouflage like your life depended on it (makes no sense whatsoever but I am just exaggerating). If you are looking for a way to blur out party weary skin and age perhaps hop on the Nanoblur bandwagon with me.

Sold exclusively at Watsons and formulated by Indeed Labs (the same guys who made Snoxin), Nanoblur is a correction cream that uses optical prism technology to visually “blur” out lines and imperfections to leave skin looking smoother. Water based in formulation, it is applied beneath or over makeup.

Nanoblur applied to bare skin. Notice how it evens out skin tone and literally blurs out imperfections for an airbrushed look.

I have been using this daily over my BB creams to blur out my tired skin (well, it does look rather red and blotchy as I have been naughty this party season). Best applied thinly with a foundation brush, it glides on with a slight silicony feel but dries out matte and sets rather nicely over moisturizer and bb cream. Results (see above!), dewy, soft and smooth looking skin. However, I do advise using a small amount first and slowly built it up if more “blurring” effects is required as caking too much of this on at one shot may result in it not sitting on foundation nicely.

Verdict: With a claim of being able to take 10 years off in 40 seconds, this correction cream is a definite must have for any groomie who is into immediate results. Do note that this is a correction cream meaning it’s a temporary quick fix and it does not treat wrinkles nor does it firm up a sagging face (you still need a good skincare regime for that).

Snoxin

9 Nov

I been testing a couple of anti-aging serums as the year is coming to a close. Yes, I’ll be turning…30 in a couple of months (well 3 in fact) hence the sudden urge to preserve whatever that’s left of my wild partying twenties. Amongst them was this little marvel aptly named Snoxin.

Tech talk as usual, this lightweight anti-aging serum is the result of Indeed Labs and Watsons (surprise surprise) collaborating together in a bid to produce a more affordable yet potent anti-aging serum. Apart from wrinkle management, this potent serum also decreases skin sagginess and wrinkle depth over a period of 56 days. Paraben, color and fragrance free, it contains the highest amount of peptides on the market all for maximum effectiveness and performance. (pauses to rest fingers..)

Silicony in texture (kind of like Olay’s Regenerist minus the perfume), it glides on non greasy and feels rather comfortable for day use. (Great for making up another excuse on my end, to layer another layer of moisturizing serum over this, oh the joys of layering and buying more product but I disgress). I’m rather pleased with its non-smarting or irritating ingredients as this did not result in any form of zits and irritation. I can’t really vouch for its wrinkle fighting properties ( I still would like to believe that I am lineless) but it does give my saggy (due to late nights) skin a very good lift while keeping it firm and tight. But prevention is better then cure and this absorbs into a matte velvety finish which makes it great for wearing under BB cream or makeup in general.

Verdict: A “Firm” believer’s choice, this does help lift up slight saggy jowls. I do believe it’s working its magic on lines but a good serum for overall general anti-aging maintenance.
