Lux White Impress

11 Oct

As this post is being published. I’m probably rolling around my army bunk in sheer exhaustion. Yes, I have stayed up the past few nights churning this week’s posts ahead (the wonders of scheduling my posts). The grooming editor is in camp doing his reservist, and other then praying for cool and overcast weather, I will be using this army staple of mine which is the  Lux White Impress to slough off the dirt and grime.

A body wash that contains micro beads to gently exfoliate dull (dead) skin and an unique triple action system, this body wash is ideal for creating a overall white and radiant look.

What I like about this body wash is its price (Body washes are like kiwi shoeshine and brushes, they get shared around in camp) and its really removes sweat and grime without leaving me smelling like a pansy infront of my army buddies (it’s the typical classic lux smell with a tinge of citrus but them being guys they’ll never know the difference. Compared to the LUX Fine Fragrance, this body wash leaves skin astringently clean and tight (do use a body butter after this).

Verdict: Cleans and exfoliates with a safe friendly army scent for avoiding the “drop the soap” teasing, it’s a very good body wash if you are into the whole “clean as a whistle” kind of feeling. As for its whitening claims, the exfoliation factor in the body wash does help the body lotions or butters in penetrating the skin easier.

LUX Fine Fragrance Elixirs Secret Bliss

21 Jul

Showering is one of my most intimate daily routines and nothing teases my senses more then this Lux Fine Fragrance Elixirs Secret Bliss body wash. I sincerely found myself dumbfounded by its fabulousness due to my initial skepticism with the price tag that came with this.

A body wash that’s the brainchild of LUX and Famous Perfumer Ann Gottlieb (The nose responsible for Calvin Klein Euphoria and Marc Jacobs Daisy. Can someone scream fabulous with me?), this scented body wash is a seductive blend of essential oils and notes that are guaranteed to leave a trail of long lasting fragrance while moisturizing and nourishing skin. Secret Bliss is a striking and teasingly sensual scent built on Egyptian Violet Leaf and Elemi oil, that infuses the skin with sensuality due to sexy base notes of amber, black violet and sandalwood.

I’m the shower now (now now, there will be no pictures, I was born a tease) dictating this review in my mind. Upon lathering up the deep red pearlescent wash, I was quite taken aback by its full bodied smell (this really sets it apart from the usual offerings on the market). I found myself enjoying its robust citrusy sandalwood notes (It reminded me a little of Bvlgari Blv, just a more citrus laced version). It does clean and leaves skin comfortable minus all the tightness that I’ve once experienced with the LUX White Impress (I felt like I went through a facelift with that). I guess LUX did hit a jackpot with this one, as the so-called “fragrance pearl technology” did release and sustain the scent for a good 2 hours before fading to oblivion.

Verdict: Recommended to groomies who are fans of powdery citrus/sandalwood scent. This adds that much celebrated and luxurious indulgence to a normal mundane shower ritual. Like a witty and wafting tease, this bottle is indeed a Secret Bliss (pun so intended) in the grooming editor’s shower.
