Vidal Sassoon Smooth Foam

14 Nov

Hello groomies, meet Yunn, one of my models for the Gadget Girl Section of T3 Magazine. I had test drove this tube of Vidal Sassoon Smooth Foam on her lovely tresses as I was in the mood for a straighter hairstyle for the November issue.

A light foam mousse that will help control frizz, it also protects your hair from styling damage to give a sleek, smooth and straight look.

It is not a bad product, all I had to do was to apply around 2 ping pong ball sized amounts to her slightly damp hair and proceed to run my flat iron through each section. (And yes, I did feel like I was flying a kite as her tresses were oh so long and smooth). It kept the frizz and waves at bay and held on to the sleek and straight effect even though we were shooting in damp (read this as raining) conditions.

Verdict: Recommended for straight to wavy hair textures. This foam does tame a lion’s mane for straighter, frizz free hairstyles. Those with “I can stick a pencil in your hair aka felicity hair curls” do seek another product, as this may be a tad mild for straightening them out.

Vidal Sassoon Glossy Spray Mist

30 Jun

Quick review for today, Say hi to Nicole, my Gadget Girl for the February issue. Notice how incandescently shiny her hair is and how it falls ever so in place. Now there is no need to fret about achieving that stellar shine. I am here to kiss and tell on the little studio secret that is the Vidal Sassoon Glossy Spray Mist.

It’s a shine spray that creates a silky look by coating the hair shaft with a layer of high shine gloss. All you need is to spray and distribute this into hair and leave it to air dry to produce that high shine seen above.

As Nicole’s hair is unprocessed (its virgin! Virgin hair is rare nowadays), all I had to do was spray a light mist of this onto the hair length, blow dry it slightly with a hair dryer before setting the curls with my ever trusty curling tong. Once I had gotten the desired curls, shake them loose gently and set with hairspray and followed with another layer of the shine spray. Voila! Mirror shine!

Verdict: Recommended for the lackluster and dull groomie, perhaps this shine spray will show you the light you need for that feel good perk me up. However, do use sparingly as too much of it does put a damper in the volume department.
